Ranveer Singh ban lifted by FWICE

Finally FWICE had to back track and lift the ban on Ranveer Singh! FWICE stands for Federation of Western India Cine Employees and its charter as per their own web site is – “Being a non-political organization with no discrimination on the basis of religion, caste, community, or gender, we stand united in our mission to protect and promote the interests of every cine employee ” which is very good.

The issue is – Ranveer Singh is not a cine employee. Neither is Farhan Akhtar. So, why did the FWICE get involved out of their jurisdiction or charter? (the claim that 100’s of employees would lose their jobs if DON3 doesn’t go on floors can be negated by the fact that 100’s of employees would have lost their jobs if Ranveer’s movies didn’t start)

FWICE did try punching above their weight ignoring that producers have IMPAA , the producers guild and the IFTPC to resolve their disputes and the actors have CINTAA. However, this public backtracking must have significantly dented their credibility & power.

Anyway, in the end – It was good that goonda gardi was not allowed to sustain and such organisations will think twice in the future before trying to bully. I wonder if Modi ji’s guidance was in this sudden change of heart!!
